Happy World Elephant day! It is on the 13/08 and we celebrate these majestic creatures. These gentle giants populations are decreasing at a rapid rate because of poaching and human wildlife conflict. There are 2 main species of elephants-the African Elephant and the Asian Elephant. The African Elephants are bigger and have bigger ears to cool themselves down because in the plains of Africa, it is stonking hot. They use their ears to cool down, while in Asia it is mostly rain forest so they don’t need large ears to keep cool.
